I offer both online and in-person counselling. You can meet me at my private practice in Maidenhead, Berkshire or choose to undergo online counselling if it is difficult for you to travel to my practice therapy room.
Online sessions are often a convenient way of conducting counselling. I will send you a link ahead of our session, so make sure you have the app downloaded in advance. Please try and find a private space where you can talk freely and where there is good internet connection. Technical issues do occur, so please don't worry if this is the case!
Just drop me an email and I will contact you to schedule a convenient time for an initial 20 to 30-minute FREE telephone consultation.
I will talk you through the psychotherapeutic approach and we will discuss what brings you to therapy and what your goals are. It’s also a great opportunity for you to ask me any questions or raise any concerns you may have. If I feel I can help you and you want to work together with me, we will find a time suitable for you to attend counselling.
I do encourage you to commit to 4-6 sessions initially in order to see positive change, but I often see clients long-term. Feedback is a key part of therapy and so we will regularly assess how therapy is working for you. Each session takes place weekly, and will be scheduled on the same day and at the same time unless pre agreed.
Everything you discuss with me during our sessions is completely confidential. There are only two exceptions to this where I am obliged to break confidentiality: if you disclose involvement in or knowledge of any criminal activities or if there is a safeguarding issue if you or any adult or child related to you could potentially be under threat of harm or abuse.
I work within the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society’s Code of Ethics.
Please pay in full 24-hours before your session begins. Fees are per session and are usually paid via bank transfer.
For any cancellations please let me know 24-hours in advance if you cannot make your appointment the following week or if you are going away, otherwise you will be charged in full. I also ask that you try to give 2 weeks notice, where possible, for any holidays or breaks in therapy. I commit to doing the same for you.
To book an appointment email info@emmarobertson-counselling.co.uk. I will get in touch to arrange a FREE 20 to 30 minute initial telephone consultation.
I talk you through the counselling process and ask you questions to gain insight into the issues you are facing. It’s a great opportunity to ask me any questions or raise any concerns that you have.
If you want to work collaboratively with me, we can book your first session. I encourage you to commit to at least 4 to 6 sessions, but these can be booked on a rolling basis. Sessions are usually weekly at the same time and day.
